This is an email we have recived from corporate, through our rep..... looks like we cant brag about fewest dropped calls anymore..... 😲

MERCHANDISING DIRECTIVE

We are asking you to remove some POP featuring “Fewest Dropped Calls” from your store and discard prior to opening for business on Sunday, August 12th.

As you know, we have done a great job in educating customers on our network improvements across a variety of metrics and communicating with customers about this progress. Because AT&T has had such a strong performance in reducing dropped calls, our competition has raised the level of its own performance in line with ours.

Importantly, AT&T still has the largest digital wireless voice and data network which we beli...

More bars in more places? Give me a F'in break. That is totally 2004! How about trying an add campaign we haven't seen like "get unlimited family and individual text" I think everyone realizes that coverage varies and the "we have the best network is overused and abused by all carriers. How about advertising what we have that we used to not have. unlimited text!

because all carriers offer that option now. That doesn't set them apart.

HONESTLY, I totally dip into the rollover minutes with my family plan. That is a MASSIVE strongpoint. I love that about AT&T. I would work for them, but Eastern Idaho doesn't have AT&T. They have a sister company called "Edge Wireless". I might consider working for them.

I know all carriers offer unlimited text now, but most customers don't and for the longest time we didn't offer it. My friend who sells t-mo, sprint, and verizon says he gets 4-5 phone family plans all the time leaving at&t for family text packages. Well its good we offer that now, but I think we should start advertising it just like verizon did when they offered it. But its cool, we can still do more bars in more places because obviously it has made a huge difference in the last 3 years and who doesn't like seeing cactus's, airplanes, buildings, and houses shaped like cell phone signal bars, I know I go banana's when I see it I'm like "wow, who would have though so much sh@t looked like cell phone signals" Now all I do is walk aroung trying...

The only thing they need to buy next is union telephone in Wyoming and we'd get a ton more acts!

Being in Wyoming and a competitor of Union, I really don't think that buying Union is a very good idea. I don't know how many subscribers they have, but I can say that I've only met one in the 2 years that I've lived here. It's a saturated market for Verizon. If AT&T made a move here, it would be a LOOOOONG time before they ever made any money. I get some complaints about Verizon, but nobody wants to leave because of the unlimited IN. That's huge up here. I seriously doubt that AT&T would be able to make a dent. The Alltel corp store just closed after being here for a year. I think AT&T w...

well i think the fact that you can no longer say least amount of dropped calls is a good thing...that just means that your network is improving...now you actually have enough signal to be able to make that call in the first place

More bars is a bit of a joke at my workplace since it seems as if ATT makes the phone think it has a better signal than it does. It's not uncommon to have 4-5 bars and get an incomming call only to have it drop in 1-2 min. And have a call fail when calling out.

I have never had as many dropped calls since joining att again. Its been a real disapointment. And att needs to offer AIM without charging for each IM!

If you don't want to get charged everytime you IM from your device then you should try this awesome java application. It's as easy to operate as Opera Mini.

I'm using it overseas though. However, whenever I use it I only get charged Kb. Enjoy!

We can't brag about it because everyone else's network has improved call quality as well. Think everyone got kinda scared when Cingular started using this campaign and started making their own improvements. I think this is good for the industry as a whole. I really never hear about anyone dropping anymore. (Except on this site, but not in my store. I am in West Texas.)
