How is Cingular on all levels?

Hello guys,

It's around the holidays and my wireless contract expires in a few days, so I am VERY tempted to switch to Cingular/ATT if they offer any special plans ; ) Should I?

Where should I begin? Well, I had Cingular about 3 years ago and I must say Cingular was horrendous. It was absolutely the worst wireless carrier back then. I think back then I had the 49.99 with 500 minutes plan (yep, plans were expensive back then) and unlimited night and weekend....BUT as soon as 9pm hit, all circuits became busy and there was no way I could call anyone once the night and weekend time started! And when I finally got through, I would constantly get drop calls. I counted one time-during an one hour conversation I got 12 drop calls! Now you mig...

I work for cingular customer service and I have seeb a lot of improvements within the last couple years. Cingular 3 years ago was a new company cingular has only been cingular for about 4 years now. I think the customer service is a lot better not as good as it could be but a lot better. I also know for a fact and that cingular had a lot of network trouble in California. But those problems have been resolved and the top peole at cingular now were not there three years ago. You should give cingualr another shot.

My sister has just migrated to Cingular from AT&T, i'm still on AT&T though, i'm waiting on the Sony Ericsson z500a to be released within the next week or two. My call quality has drastically improved over the past 3 weeks as well as the customer service. The implementation of AT&T could have gone better, but now that Cingular has taken over, it's getting smoother, slowly but surely it seems.

I used to want to cancel my service with AT&T, but now that Cingular has taken over, i'm more content and happy than ever that i'm now part of the largest carrier, with more services and better coverage in the near future. Signal strength has also significantly improved within the past month.

Phone selection will likely get better, along with c...

Customer representatives are also very very friendly and helpful with no attitude. I think it's because they actually hire someone who speak ENGLISH!!

I'm not going to tell you yes or no to leaving t-mobile for cingular. But I will tell you what you should have been told here about switching companies.

As an ethical sales person who works for an indirect dealer, I would tell you to talk to people in you area and see how cingular works there. Don't just talk to a couple of people, talk to several.

You can read all of the statistical data you want to about coverage, dropped call rates, etc... But there is no better way to gage how a cell phone works better than asking around in the area you are in, or will be in when using your phone.

When I have someone who isn't sure about that to get, and doesn't live near where I live, I ask them to go talk to their neighbors and frien...

3 years ago, Cingular was ****ty but has improved greatly. The fact that you're using the Samsung e715 you have good reception (great RF on that phone). If you were to switch back over to Cingular, I recommend a new Cingular branded phone w/ a 64k SIM. Ensure that the phone is an "ENS" phone which enables it to pick up Cingular's (T-mo's) 1900mhz network along with AT&Ts 850mhz network flawlessly. You'll be ok. Believe me, I'm in southern cali and I experienced busy tones, dropped calls and all that BS. Things changed over a year ago though. Good Luck!

I would like to just suggest one LIL thing to ya! Don't be afraid to ask questions to your sales rep. I MAKE SURE my customers know that they can come to me if they have any questions or concerns about anything from billing issues to how to download a ringtone to setting up VM. Attitude says all. 😉
