iPhone discount pricing option

The only problem about that article is that the plan that you get from amazon is not an iPhone plan. U need a specific phone for your iPhone to work, therefore you would indeed have a 300 dollar iPhone, just no plan to use it on!

If he did that, would that void his agreement with Amazon? I know if you purchase through Wirefly or Letstalk and change your plan within 180 days its considered voiding the agreement, and then the rebate is invalid and the customer would be charged the retail price of the phone. Hopefully Amazon doesnt operate that way.

I don't think amazon has the same qualifiers as Wirefly does. Either way, they aren't really changing their plan unless amazon requires features. The Iplan when added to an existing line is a $20 add to the original plan. So essentially it wouldn't break any rate qualifiers.

Why would changing the plan void the rebate? Wirefly would still get credit for a new activation as long as the number is still active regardless of the plan. It seems stupid to me that the rebate would suddenly be invalid because someone changed their plan.

I would assume it has to do with Comp. If it requires a 59.99 or higher plan thus a higher comp for wirefly then it would make sense to have the qualifier for the rebate. They usually do a six month agreement where you forfeit the rebate for dropping your rate plan. Its just a way for them to insure their profit.

Couldn't you just go get a mail-in rebate from a store? If you had the receipt, I would think that would still work.

Well in the case of the W810 ATT only gives you $100 of the $175 that amazon if offering. So you would lose out on the additional $75 if you break terms.

$100 off is still better than bending over and taking it from AT&T for an iPhone.

If you set up an account on Amazon, all you have to do is add the Iplan feature to it when you set up your Iphone account.

It should work just fine. Since the Iphone is regarded as an outright purchase this would work. The down side here of course is waiting on your Amazon rebates. The W810 should sell for around $150.00 brand new or more. $150.00 is less than I would pay buying one in store as an agent. If you were to get the $175.00 rebates as well you are looking at a $175.00 Iphone. You could also do this in store but wouldn't get as much back on rebates.

Stores, to include Cor, were doing this a week before the Iphone was launched.

This really works on any phone. I had a customer come in and get the best deal on a high end phone available. He then sold it on ebay and used the income to buy an N75. So if you look at the cost of something like a W810i. If you get $300 out of the phone or so, you can get any european only unlocked phone and use it on att at essentially get a discount off the hanset price with a little leg work.

No reason it would not work, that is if his pricing is accurate with Amazon and they have no clause that says you must keep the same plan and features.

AT&T suggested that we sign them up with one of our lines after we are out of the iPhone. Then giving them a great spare phone if they must send in their phone into apple.
