Phone Dilemma
OK...I've had it with my Palm Treo650. After 1.5 years it is giving me fits (white screen of death, slow boots, dropped calls, etc.) and I don't need to be tied to my work e-mail as much anymore. So with that I'm able to do an upgrade according to my on-line account and just have a few questions on the current Motorola Razr's...
1. Are the current V3 (like one that I could buy from e-bay) decent? I heard some stories on the first generation that they weren't that good, so wondering if the latest firmware is decent?
2. I can get the V3xx for $49.95 but I have to extend my contract 2 years. How is the V3xx as compared to the V3? Is it worth a contact extension to get the latest n greatest.

If you're going for a Razr.. don't stop at anything except the V3XX. It's 3G and ready for the new network and overall a much better phone than the old V3 by comparison. Newer software, etc.. etc...
You may also want to consider the Samsung Sync, another 3G phone with multimedia features or a LG CU400 (great speakerphone!). What ever you do, please do not get a simple V3 Razr though.

I agree. The V3 was crap. V3xx is a whole different animal.
The 400 is discontinued, and I see a lot of people break the outer screen on the SYNC from abuse.

I tried the SYNC for a day, then took it back because of all of the horror stories that I've heard [i.e.: not powering on, powering off, scrn issues, etc....].

I haven't really decided if the outer screen is just fragile or if it's the people breaking it. They've mainly been women who "just put it in their purse" and it broke. It even happened with my mom, but I know all the crap she has floating around in her purse.

With all the large, heavy, and pointy objects in a womans purse it's not that hard to believe.
