Running 2 Cingular from ALLTEL

🙂 Hello all. I'm new to this forum.

Currently I'm with ALLTEL (and have been for almost 5 years now). However, I'm getting ready to break my current contract with them and well aware of the termination fee which sucks. Have had it with them. This last time is the straw that broke the camel's back. Asked to have "Free2Roam" minutes "added" to my current plan. Was told that it was added but wasn't told by the ALLTEL rep that it would alter my plan and lower my regular day-time minutes (had I known this, I would have not gone through with this). So now because of this I'm over on my minutes for this month which sucks major MunkyButt. Have listened, read online reviews, talked to Cingular reps, and other Cingular customers and will be switch...

LG 1400 all the way... Trust me, you'll thank me for it... And wait until the stores have the 64 k sim cards...

What's with the SIM cards?

I'm clueless when it comes to stuff like that. Guess maybe cause I never dealt with them before.

Do I have to buy them separately in order to use a Cingular phone or are they already in the phones?

Oh... sorry... they come with the phone. Unlike ALLtel, Cingular does not 'program' the phone to work. It programs a Sim Card, that holds the account info and your phonebood mainly. So when you get a new phone, just take out the sim card and put it in your new phone.

And you can do a side by side comparison of the 2 phones on this site, I've played with both and LG all the way.

Color screen camera phones are always gonn aeat up battery power faster than standard phones. I'd say a few days between each recharge from my experience.

Yeah I went into the Cingular store today and got some info.

You know im kinda slow tonite, it just dawned on me that maybe ur a Cingular rep. Im sitting here saying like "Duh" to myself.

But yeah i was in the Cingular store earlier today. It's kinda funny how the store and the call center is positioned. The store is on one side of the stret directly across the street is the call center, which was an abandoned old Wal-Mart store.

Make sure you verify all the rate plan details and features with a customer service rep AFTER you activate... Expect an Activation fee and pro-rated charge...

You can pay it... just make sure you have the reciept... sometimes the billing system gets wacky... it will still be on your bill, but you will have a credit for that amount...

Heyo. We're glad to have you. This is what I advise when you sign up for service. Ask questions. Ask about everything you can think of. Activation fees, how to set up voice mail, make sure you get a nation gsm plan, and be sure abou the length of contract you sign. remember $200.00 phone for $60/free = 2 year agreement. Most of my calls are like this. just doing some preventative action. 😉
