iPhone & the price..will it sell? Yes.

mjsla

Too expensive....humbug.

The iPhone price will NEVER come down as it shouln't. Apple will release cheaper iPhones over time with less features as it has done with the iPod.

Hummm. The original black & white iPod was $500 and it could only hold 1000-1500 songs. Everyone said it was too exenpsive or that there was no competition & it would fail.

There was plently of MP3 players out there at that time...Nike, Creative, etc but they all sucked.

They were all wrong then as they are now concerning the iPhone. Everyone will want this phone as everyone wants iPods. Why spend $400 on a video iPod when you can spend a little more & get a phone, a iPod, a Google Maps, YouTube, real email, real web browser, a photo album, & a camera.....p...

Everyone did not want iPods. Thats why Creative sold millions as well as iRiver, Archos and the rest. There ARE people who make up their own minds and don't follow the trends like lemmings.

Those who already have iPod won't want another more expensive one.

The reason to get a video iPod instead of an iPhone is storage. 8 gig iPhone for $600, or an 80 gig iPod for $350. So it's not really a few hundred more for something better, it's a few hundred more for a trade-off.

If they had an 80 gig iPhone for $1000, I think it'd sell.

AvgJoe-

Just thought you'd like to do some background reading on the origin of the usage of "lemmings" to denote mindless followers, since it seems to be your favorite (only?) insult to throw around...

http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/lemmings.htm »

Ironically, by perpetuating a myth simply because you heard others use the term in a certain way and you never bothered to do your own research, you are, in a way, a follower yourself... interesting...

Anyway, early adopters do indeed tend to pay more for 1st generation convergence devices, and yes, if you break down the individual components of the iPhone, it seems expensive. However, it is the convergence that appeals to people, not the individual specifications, and it is certainl...

My biggest beef with the iPhone is storage. I've got a 60 gig iPod already which I use for music and videos. I'd still have to carry my iPod even if I bought the iPhone, because there's just not enough memory on it.

Surely you jest;. LOL

I have no need for asn iPhone. My Z525 suits me just fine. I do find it interesting how those in a desperate need to be on the bleeding edge can defend that need to be the first on the block. I will tell you the most independant people I know do not have an iPod.

I was, indeed, kidding. However, you're missing my point. I am not attempting to "defend" this so-called "need to be first on the block." As it happens, I, personally, will NOT be purchasing an iPhone, and do not own an iPod or any other apple product for that matter. The point I am repeatedly trying to get you to understand is that I don't consider it your place to judge ANYONE on what they choose to spend their money on. I simply was attempting to observe, in a topical response to an earlier post (some of us really do that here), that the iPhone's price will not deter those interested in purchasing it despite its rather poor features/dollar ratio. Those who are interested in one will be interested in its novelty as a convergence devi...

I am truly sorry that lemmings killed your family, but seriously, don't you have anything better to do than continually, thoughtlessly, and irrelevantly rant against conformity?

Don'y YOU have anything better to do then continually, thoughtlessly, and irrelevantly act as judge and jury for who or what is relavant and what or who is not?

Sigh.

1) Continually - recurring in steady, usually rapid succession

I posted a couple messages over two days that contained a mere few lines mentioning that I thought your remarks were off-topic and presumptuous. You, however have posted more than 20 messages in the last week containing references to "lemmings" "madison avenue" "stupid people" and other such characterizations of people who "fall for" the allure of new, high-tech devices.

2) Thoughtlessly - devoid of thought; lacking in concern for others

Each post I have made has been an attempt to respond to a question someone posed or to offer assistance with a problem I felt I could help solve. You, however, seem to only post hate-filled messages that not only are becomi...

The iphone does not suck.It will serve it's purpose albeit limited. The creators are very smart. They will get plenty of yes lemmings to jump off the cliff of smart finance to buy into the fad and pay too much for it. Its the American way for those who need approval so badly they are willing to pay far too much for it.

🤣 There probably will be a line to get the device, but once they take it home and see it's not worth $500/600, there will be a return line to get rid of the POS.

Keep in mind that only a few AT&T engineers have tested this device on the network. Normally, every device is tested in every market to ensure it work well in that market. This one was not, I can almost guarantee it will drop calls in my market.

No insurance is needed as no one has insurance on computers, TVs, etc. Dont drop it. If you do you just buy another.

The SIM card is removalable.

The battery is not removable. I have never bought a new battery for any cell phone since 1996 when I starting using them.

They are just caught up in the "common group." Nothing wrong with that but there are alternatives.

BWM sells just over 1 million cars per year.

GM sells over 3 million per year.

Which is a better car? The most sold is not always the best.

That's a bad comparison. GM sells many different brands worldwide, BMW sells 1 or 2(Mini & Rover, I believe). Plus you'd be surprised how many GM vehicles out last BMWs. Too many electrical problems and they fall apart to easily, lol. We stopped buying them for the Mercedes. 😁

Crack addicits (READ: APPLE CRAZY CONSUMERS) will feed their additiction with this phone, but those who hate ATT will stear clear of the phone. The main set of people who will be trying to get this phone are the middle to upper class 22-28 year olds who are eligble for their upgrades and want something trendy and even they think it is a strech to spend four to five hundred on a phone with that small amout of memory (in comparision to their current Ipod of course). Your comparing their MP3 and phones, 2 VERY different devices, the iPod is a great seller but it's not going to be the same as a phone, what made the iPod so great is because of it's battery, itunes options, and sleek look.

People who want phones are going to need different needs, including network which is out of apple's control.

They are no longer different, they are now ONE.

The iPhone has a great battery, iTunes options, & it sleek, plus its a phone.....& so much more.

The industry is going thru a paragrim shift. You never see it as its happening so take a look.
