Would Cingular Retail Reps please stop doing this!!!!

Apparently when the e-mail went out stating that GAIT phones can be on the NAT plans, retail reps got the notion that this meant TDMA phones... The NAT rate plans are NOT meant to be on TDMA phones and everytime retail reps put them on these plans we have to be the bad guy and explain to customers why we have to change their rate plan... First of all it makes customer service look bad... and Secondly, READ YOUR E-MAILS MORE CAREFULLY!!!

Wow, I'm glad I'm not that stupid... I'm sorry you guys had to deal with that. I don't think any reps dumb enough to screw that up are smart enough to use forums though... 😕

Wow I was wondering why Speck said that too but after seeing JJ's response I know why now 🤣 Meet him outside in the parking lot? The always sad and retarded threat especially when made over the internet.

I just wish they would get rid of GAIT phone for once and for all. They're the ugliest phones on earth.

Central Texas needs them too, there's a huge whole in our GSM there and people do actually live there. We don't sell them anymore in Dallas, but I know they're available in West and Central Texas.

I don't have a map in front of me, but it's kinda north west of there. TDMA's got it covered, but not our GSM.

You know the funny thing about this statement is I have had tons of CSRs put people on GSM plans with TDMA phones for the 1st 6 months of GSM launch in Dallas. It goes both ways. Call Center Reps cause me more hassle and explanations in the stores than any other store could come close. Just like explaining to people they are not eligible for an upgrade and then a CSR gives them an exception that only Customer Service can give and we look the bad guys.

About the early upgrade, I honestly thought Retail reps could allow for the 1yr price 2 yr contract as well?!

Also, Customer Service doesn't always cause a hassle, (exception of the few CSR's out there that need to get canned!), for the most part customer's just:

a) don't like the answers given to them.
b) changed words around until it's what they want to hear

Corporate agents HAVE TO. Auth dealers can, if they are cool with a lower commission for the upgrade.

Gotta remember that the customer has to be current on their bill, and be (A) at least 6 months into the current contract or (B) upgrading from TDMA or GAIT. In (B)'s case, we usually do a normal upgrade thru CS.

dunno about cingular yet, but working for aws, I just tell people do their upgrading through the call center rather thanhassling with the retail, though Ihave found that the problems only start really happening when the customers go to a third party vendor...
