Just wait till you download music or a video or the air. You'll quickly understand how important a faster data network is at that point.

how is it a waste??? i don't get why people whine and complain that the iphone isn't going to have 3G. a lot of people with at&t aren't in 3G coverage so most people won't notice the difference. also, it makes sense to release it as 2G so they can bilk the upgrade later. the data speed will be fine for what people want it to do.

For my $600 and my extra $47.98/month for 2 years, it could have atleast been 3g and work with windows.... ๐Ÿ™„

It will work with Windows. ๐Ÿคจ

Why wouldn't it? It's all over the promotional stuff that it works with iTunes, which runs on mac & pc.

yes your itunes will work, but unless you have a mac os, to my understanding per a apple rep (which i wouldn't doubt he's inept) the emailing/contacts/calender will not sync with a pc...please correct me if I am wrong.

No one knows about the email/syncing/PIM stuff when it comes to the iPhone. There's still some question as to whether or not any corporate email will be available (most sources are guessing no), but I'd put money on it being able to sync with Outlook, it just makes no sense to not include that feature.

i dont know either. To my knowledge it's a glorified video ipod for anyone other than mac users. One of us should save this and when the answer comes out we can check back to see whose right ๐Ÿ™‚

As to logic, since when have you seen carriers act in a logical way? Christ it took cingy and verizon almost 4 years before unlimited text...

Why not? If by corporate mail you mean Exchange, then as long as Exchange is setup to use IMAP then there would be no issues. Apple already said the phone will support Exchange. OS X also uses iCalendar (the RFC) so it should also work with properly setup standards compliant calendaring applications.
