All the CWA does is protect workeers who are incompetwent, lazy and or dont want to work. I have seen them file endless grievances to "protect" workers who brag about how they cant be fired, even to the point of refusing to try and make quota.....

they also negotiate cheaper insurance, more paid time off, better wages and raises... and after katrina they helped cwa members on the gulf coast...
but like anything, you have to take the good with the bad. people find a way to work every system...

I agree with everything, except better wages. Our commissions are always being cut, and the CWA cant or wont do anyting about it.

You couldnt be more right about taking good w/ the bad

can't really do much about commission because that's like working for tips. they structure it off what the company needs and right now the focus is on gross adds... i hit 2nd tier last month and really didn't notice that much of a difference. in our market if you hit your gross adds then the pay out on features are better...
and i worked customer care before sales and they really help in that area where as sales has a good hourly they look at it like it's up to us to really make our own money...

Don't forget to add "pad the pockets of the few who run th union off the backs of the membership" There are few unions that are actually good for thier constituency..

nope, that total of 17 included vac, sick, excused with pay, and 2 floating holidays. some did mind because they got more money. i didn't i was capped out of their pay bands, so i was screwed on the raise every six months. I was pissed. i just got my manager to promote me out of the union.

I agree stay as far away as you can from any uinion cwa or uaw or whatever all they do is work for the lazy good for nothing people. I worked for then Cingular(now AT&T) from 2003-2006 as a CSR and I was let go for no reason and they didn't even lift a finger to help me when I was a member. DEATH TO ALL UNIONS 👿

theres gotta be somthing more (not trying to call you a liar) than just missing one sale....like missing one sale and a few days of work.....missing one sale and having a bad attitude.....missing one sale and being ugly.....somthing.

but before someone is let go, there are reasons. if you miss quota, you get samed. if it happens 3 months in a row, you can be let go. if said person was on month 4 or 5 and the other person was on month one, then yea i see how that could happen.

they said I was rude adn huin gup on a customer when I clearly didnot do it they even listened to the recorded call and it showed I did not be rude or hang up on him, it wAs just because I was making too much money and they wanted to get rid of me and pay someone else a lower wage to do the same job at lower quality

Cingular managements attitude toward their workers and how they train their management sucks. They teach that the reps will put up with anything because they need this job. CWA is around and barely does enough to stay around. The only reason why I voted to keep they union is because I hate my managers more than I hate the union by far. I think CWA is around making money off a bad situation. I don't really like them either. They bend and refuse to fight by signing contracts with no strike clauses. I have worked for union orange Cingular a long time. I truly have started 2 catch a headache right when I pull up to the front door. It's not the customer's I agreed to deal with difficult customers when I took the job. Management for me is worse...

i wasn't in retail with the CWA in the Carolinas, but i was in with the network team and it sucked for me. I got less vacation time. 17 vacation days vs. 23 with PTO. i got out as soon as i could. last i heard, retail wasn't included in the CWA here though.
