Yeah but i think this one is going to be around for a year or more before they put out a second generation. Plus they still haven't put out a new Ipod Eithier.

I heard that it would be any time between November and January, when the next version of the iphone would come out, and it would be 3G.

I want one with built in GPS, it just seems only natural to if it comes with Google Maps already on there.

Yeah GPS would be great, but i think this version may be able to do that. I mean Palm has software that can do that. It's just software that would work great. I'm not so concerned about 3G. I really like the Wifi, so many place have wifi acess now. I'd rather have wimax than 3G

Yeah, and I can understand that, but they deployed 3G in all the areas of Texas I travel to and live in... Houston, Austin, San Antonio, and I have to say I can notice a huge difference with it, and I am impressed.

If this version has GPS, because like many people have said earlier there is still a lot of info that is not out there for the Iphone, though they did not suggest it would be, but if it does have it, I think I will get it the first time around, who knows.

I'm sorry but why would you camp out for something thats going to be the biggest pain in the ass?

-no removable battery. so if battery goes bad, the whole phone is gone.
-completely touch screen. so if touch screen goes bad the whole phone is useless.

i just don't see how any person with reasonable intelligence would buy the first generation of this phone. wait a few months and let them work the kinks out.

Caleb,

I was contacted by an Apple representative to ask if I would be interested in carrying them. I can forward the email to you to send to David S if you would like.

I know "someone" with the iPhones has contacted us, but I'm not sure if they're Apple direct or through a 3rd party. Depending on the cost for us, we may or may not carry it. We're not betting on it though.

Hey, anybody wanna buy a Blackberry Curve?

I didn't think of that, thanks! I'll put up a sign on my front door so every body knows I do not have the I-phone. Granted people will still walk in an ask. 🙄

Perhaps I should stock up on 8800s for when the market sells out of I-phones...

Nah no phones in the back. I seriously doubt we'll get them until the day they launch. When the Slvr came out, they were overnighted to us and we received them the day of launch.

Oh you work for cingular. I heard rumors that some people from AT&T were getting some dumbed down version to use. So do you know how they are going to go about the Wifi? Is At&T going to try to charge for that even though it should be free.

I doubt they'll charge for the wifi. The 8525 has it and it works with no problem.

As far as versions for employees to use, I've heard nothing about it, but if they did, I seriously doubt they'd "dumb em down". What would be the point? There would have to be 2 versions produced...

Ok now this may be mentioned in this thead somewhere but the "release date" is June 15th. There are no waiting lists-first come serve. As mentioned on another blog on phonescoop a couple weeks ago, corporate employees are not able to take pto between 6/15-7/15, so they think its going to be a big hit. and yes in my store new data connections and electric outlets were hooked up. att also opened up a wifi router for demonstrating wifi on the iphone. THE INFO I AM STATING MY BE DIFFERENT PER MARKET! we have been informed to not give any info to customers coming into store until closer to release date.

yea. i feel the same way that spend 200.00 on an ipod and then they spend 200.00 on a camera and then another 200.00 on a phone. those people are stupid and should be punched in the face.
