Anyone using the Nokia 9290

I have a Nokia 9290 that I would like to get working on Cingular. What do I need to do to be able to use the Fax machine part, and dial up an ISP?

Please let me know if I need to call Cingular and have them do anything!

Thanks in advance for any help!

First, do you live in CA or NY? If so, you should be able to do this.

...but if not, you might be out of luck. Cingular uses GSM 850 is most parts of the country, and the 9290 is GSM 1900 only. You might have to wait for the new Communicator that Nokia will announce in two weeks... 😉

If you do live in CA or NY, it should just be a matter of settings. Since the 9290 doesn't have GPRS, you shouldn't need to have anything done to your account.
