I have been reading up latley on Phone Scoop, and have some questions I have got some replies as to why GSM is better, than CDMA, I have been thinking about switching to ATT cause they have newer better faster phones 3G , and it seems it takes about a year for them to trickle down to CDMA networks, and I also belive that 3G is faster that EVDO, but I am concerned about coverage & recption & customer service.
Most people who have GSM phones on here say call quality is better.
But I want to know cause I live in a major metro area and I only know two people who have ATT, the rest have verizon, alltel, or t-mobile. So how do they figure they have 60 million customers, or are they counting land lines?
Anyway, So I went to JD Powers website and...

They measure the humber of subscribers by the number of cell phone numbers that are active. Did you ever wonder why jd always rates t-mobile the highest yet they always fall behind on net customer additions every quarter? If they were truly the best customers would be flocking to them at the prices they offer.

EVDO and 3g are similar standards for data services. While 3g has the potential for being faster than EVDO current hardware and software keep them on par with eachother(for now)

I don't think you reading through customer polls is going to give you the best idea of what the service will be like. There is no one size fits all carrier.

Go sign up service you have 30 days to try it out for yourself if your not happy return it. ...

That is probably what I am going to do.
I am just waiting to see when the moto Q9H comes to ATT, I had the Alltel version and it had poor recpition so I returned it. I think a lot of people keep it cause of all it can do, but I need it to make calls, No recption = no calls.
I am not afraid to try ATT, I used to have them when they were TDMA but then they were switching to GSM and there network was always busy and you could not make a call, so I switched to Verizon.
When they were smaller they were pretty good, But their phones were always dropping calls, the best thing about them was their customer service, they always figured out a way to get me a new phone, flash it or fix it, but I had just got tired of spending life at the cell phone...

not necessarily. just a phone that performs well in your area. in my area nokia, htc and sony perform better. you could ask people on here that are from your area or howardforums.com or check with some of the local stores there.
