Buzz Buzz

I've noticed that when I call my friends with Cingular I hear a "buzzing" sound on their phone. I was told by another friend of mine last night, that they hear the same thing when they call me. I tried using a "wired" headset and a "bluetooth one", and they heard it both times. What could be causing this and has anyone else noiiced?

Whenever I called my friend with Cingy (I have them also) I would hear that buzzing sound. It sounds like there is a bee buzzing around. My friend could not hear it but everyone who spoke with her could. She just switched to a different handset & a 3G card and the buzzing is gone.

Suggestions maybe it is the phone or the simcard. Lots of times there are problems with LG phones & certain sim cards.

Motorolas are known for buzzing. especially the v3 and the sliver. the buzzing on the v3 is somewhat louder than that on the sliver

but is that normal? is that a network problem or is it that we all just have bad phones?? seems to me that cingular would want to fix this. its embarrassing when someone calls you and all they hear is bees. lol.

are you talking about the buzzing you hear in speakers of other electronics? It almost sounds like a morse-code type thing. I have an answering-machine land-line and whenever my phone is near it, i'll periodically hear those noises. Same with my other speakers. GSM phones are notorious for interfering with speakers... well at least in the united states. I don't know if it happens in places where they use different GSM frequencies.

No. I hear that in speakers too...but thats just becuse GSM is a glorified TDMA network which is a glorified Analog network. I'm talking about the buzzing that i hear in the earpiece of my phone when talking to other Cingular customers. Plus, they hear the "bees" on their end from my phone. Crazy.

How about a Verizon Samsung A990? I've never had ANY problems with my phone while i'm in a 3G area....but its when i'm in the GSM area is when it sucks. I can really notice a difference in the WCDMA network and the GSM network. I wish Cingular would hurry up and put the 3G everywhere. I know for a fact that Verizon is upgrading every tower that they have to EVDO right now.

I think it come down now to whether you want to stay with Cingular or just go all Verizon. I had the V3 and heard all that you are talking about......so did everyone that called me. I got a new phone and never had the problem again. I think it is just something with the original V3 as the V3i I had never did it. I had several V3 replacements and after about 2-3 the buzzing stopped for the most part still with the original V3.

I say get a new phone besides the V3 if you really want to stick with Cingular. Just my opinion and experience.

Once again I am amazed at the lack of knowledge on this forum.

It's a problem with the V3's speaker. Very common problem. Just warranty the phone out and you won't have the problem anymore.

AshDizzle - It is not only a problem with the V3; It has happened on many other types of phones. Don't be so quick to call everyone unknowledgeable. Each instance can be caused by different factors - they can't all be generalized like you are stating.

Correct! I don't have a V3. I have a LG CU500 and my sister has a Treo 650. They both buzz.

My friend who had the same problem had a LG CU500 also. She switched to a Samsung Sync a707 and no longer has the problem.
