Be aware people, I was told by several Cingular reps that they will offer 'NO INSURANCE' for the iPhone. That means you will probably have to purchase an Apple Protection Plan, if available, and that means several days to fix if, it's like the Mac.

your screwed if its not covered under warranty (basicly cingular wont cover you breaking your phone, but if it is a warranty issue they'll fix it)

it does kind of suck for people like us that carry an extensive collection of pda's...

extensive no, exclusively pda's, thats a yes for me, i dont think i could deal with a regular phone any more...it would be like a coffee can with string

Doesn't the phone have to manufactor by Apple for them to put a Protection Plan?

The iPhone is going to be under a different manufactor

There are third party companies that will insure the phone, same as they do for the other smartphones.
