OK, Unlimited Text Messaging 3/5/07. But how will it work?

I have a $4.99 messaging starter package. Can I replace it for this new feature or will I have to add it to my existing $4.99 package? All the people that I talk or text have Cingular.... So there's no point on keeping the package I currently have.

TIA

Let me see. $4.99 + $5 = $9.99. Even I can figure that one out! But you know, I can hear the call "But I have unlimited text!" and a rep having to explain that porntone.com is NOT a Cingular customer and thus it's no M2M SMS!

there is, it's not unlimited text its unlimited m2m texting and it is not a stand alone feature, it's a $5 add on to any text plan.

the way it works is simple

$4.99 for 200 text to anyone
+ $4.99 for unlimited m2m texting=
$9.99

I had to fix that, otherwise it equalled $9.98

well it is supposed to be an additional 4.99 to any text package so it might be 9.98

nope, it's an additional $5. It's $9.99. I could list every soc code (btw, I'm pretty sure the term soc code is redundant but i'm not sure what "soc" stands for) with the feature name and the cost, but I really don't feel like it. I expect people to trust me or do the work on their own and find out I'm right long after they've put in their own effort, so that the next time they'll just trust me.

I'm sorry that i questioned it, i havent had a chance to look in POS.comI and won't until i get back to work on Monday, but this is the info sent to me by our region's Data Sales Manager:

Good Morning:

ATT has just announced a new unlimited Mobile to Mobile messaging plan that goes into effect this Sunday, March 4. Please take the time to go onto CSP and familiarize yourself with this latest promotion. In a nutshell, the new plans (this is not a bolt-on) offer Unlimited Mobile to Mobile Messaging to any ATT/Cingular Wireless (over 60 Million) customer. The plans are similar to our existing Media packages but cost $4.99 more a month for this feature.

This is something we have asked for as long as I can remember and it is ...

Bored. You're fun to talk to though.

It's not actually an add-on, it's a whole new soc.

Here's one example.

Messaging Starter, $4.99: 4N1S

Messaging Starter w/ unlimited m2m text, $9.99: MP1M

It says the adds are going to say, "Unlimited Texting for $5 more a month." Personally, I think they should've gone with Messaging instead of Texting, but meh.

And all the originals can no longer be added. Existing customers will still have their plans until they up them to the unlimited M2M and get the $5 more expensive plan.

I'm pretty sure the originals are still gonna be offered, just not promoted. It's our job to upsell.

mms also. That's why I don't like the name. They should call it unlimited m2m messaging, not texting.
