mMode v. Data

Want to get a Treo 650 as a business customer (ATT still). I was told by the business line they can still sell me a Treo 650 (Blue sim), but that I would need to change my voice plan and data plan. Lemme know the truth... If I got an unlocked GSM Treo and popped in the sim I have on an all-you-can-eat mMode account would there me any downside? Would it work at the same speed as paying $45 for the data plan that comes with the Treo?

An unlocked anything most likely is not going to work for data at all. I've never encountered an unlocked phone that had functioning mmode

As long as you manually enter these data settings

for mmode email-

Tap the Home key on the keypad until the word "All" is listed in the upper right corner.
Tap the Mail icon.
Tap the Menu bar tab (dark blue area) in the top left corner.
Tap View and then tap Edit Accounts.
Tap New.
Choose from the drop down menu of popular Internet Service Providers or tap Other.
Tap Next.
Enter the following information:
Account name: User defined, example "mMode mail"
Full name: Name to appear in the from column of the recipients mailbox.
E-mail address: username@mmode.com
User Name: mMode username
Password: mMode password
Tap Next.
Enter the following information:
Incoming (POP3) Server: imap.attwireless.net
Outgoing ...
