Buying a phone from E-BAY (or other vendor)

I have ATTWS GSM Nation Family Plan. I haave a Nokia 6200 and 2 Nokia 3595. My 6200 needs a new battery , but, I do not want to spend upwards of $50.00 to buy a battery., so I want to get a new phone.

The other two users (the Nokia 3595,) do not want to change phones, so, going to Cingular to migrate is not an option.

When I am looking at E-Bay for phones, what exact frequency band should I pay attention to??? I am in Pittsburgh -- my current phone is 850/1900 -- do I need to be there or will 900/1900 work ??

Are ATTWS phones still available from Customer Service ??

Thanks for your help 🙂

You can only order another AWS device if your device is lost or stolen, this is the only exception. There is a very limited number of models that are offered. At this time they are Nokia & Motorola.

This is not entirely true, customers are allowed to upgrade. It depends on length of service, and type of customer they are. Consumers, IRUs (Sponsorship) or no-FAN B2B customers must renew contract to receive discounted upgrades. If this customer does not want to renew his or her contract, he or she can still upgrade, but must be charged retail pricing for the upgrade.
Account MUST be current. If billing account is MORE than 30 days past due, regardless of the amount past due, they will NOT ...

You can also order a replacement phone thruough customer service if your phone is out of warranty. So if you have had it longer than a year call in and someone will go over the options.

OR

You can just migrate ONLY your number and the other two Shared Plan phones can stay by themselves... not 100% about this one because I work with digital attws, not gsm and it could be different from my department but i have done this with my digital customers... but it wouldn't hurt to check with a gsm attws rep 🙂

The thing is the new cingular plans really suck in comparison to the former at&t wireless rate plans. I see custs paying 39.99 a month for 1050 national anytime mins, early nights, ulim m2m, and weekends, constantly. Nobody can touch a deal like that.
