Help ATTW Rep, Please, I could you your wisdom.

by Chapperal    Oct 17, 2003, 11:49 PM

Time to break-in this forum, how better than with a question.
Here goes.
I have an elderly father in BayShore, Long Island, New York. The land area code there is *631* and the zipcode is "11706* but he borders on the BayShore/Brentwood line. He lives west of 5th ave, north of north of Southern State Parkway and east of the Sagtiskos(spelling) pkwy.
The question is, if in the near future I have to go there if he becomes ill, is that area well covered by ATTW? I live in Gainesville, Fl. and I haven't in New York 14 years. If I should have to go up there in a hurry, cell phone service is the last thing I need to think about.
I will need a phone to work in both states. Do recommend TDMA,GSM,GPRS or something else? If this wasn't important I wouldn't be asking. My Dad is 80 years old, God bless him, any info on this matter would be great appreciated. There has to be someone near him in that area who uses ATTW.
My brother uses Verizon there, Verizon in Gainesville always messed up my bill, I'd prefer to stay with ATTW.
Yes I DO like ATTW, some don't but I do, I bills are always correct.
Thank you for reading this, Mark
