ATT?

Hi all. Im an ATT customer for many years and have been month to month for the past couple. Im looking to get a new phone. I have been using a Motorola V60 and I'm hearing the GSM band on ATT is seriously lacking. Because Cingular is buying out ATT would a move there now prevent the need for another phone when the deal is complete?

The phones I am looking at are the V400 and T637. I suppose if I wait a little while Nokia will have a phone with like features as the ones I mentioned. Cingular has these phones at quite a bit of savings over ATT as well. If I just buy a phone outright as it does not cost too much more than ATT's current prices, will ATT ask me to sign a contract?

for the phone itself if you pruchase at full price it would not require a contract... HOWEVER when you migrate your services to gsm the new plan will not have any promotions associated with it (i.e nights and weekends or additional airtime) and those promos would require an extension of the contract itself so it would be better to just go ahead and get it with contract. If you migrate online you are eligible for online pricing. We don't have the moto V400 but the 600 is in stock. 🙂

I guess its better to activate new service with cingular then? The v600 is less there as well but i don't really want the V600, only the V400 or T637.ATT is Cingular or soon will be anyway I suppose.

It's too bad I like ATT but it does not make sense to pay a premium to stay there.
