Ive got one great story to tell, and hopefully this'll get to be a new thing, because its nice to hear I'm not the only one getting these calls,
I'm with at&t warranty exchange dept., what little left in this country anyway, and my last call today, was a cust who called and first thing started screaming at me because "he thought" I had made his daughter cry. (Like I'm the only person in my dept.). So after listening to him a few minutes I realize this guy just isn't going to quit, so I interrupt and try to get down to business, the entire way this guy yelling and screaming trying to get me to hurry up cause he was on hold for 5 hours(riiiggghht). After i get to the part where I tell him his warranty options, he cuts me off and says I want a...

Aren't you supposed to treat each customer the same...calmly and rationally...regardless of their mood?

Sure and I do, dont get me wrong. Im calm, and professional throughout the entire call,
And I can understand when someone is yelling at AT&T, heck most of the time I completely agree with them. But when they start throwing punches at me, telling me how I need to be fired because I didnt give them what they wanted, and how much of a dumba** I am because they broke thier fon that gets me.

obviously not, anyone who does knows that no matter how hard you try it's just not possible to treat an asshole the same as a niceguy

🙂 I work in Care out of Halifax on Vation this week, and I 99% of the time am able to treat cust same on every call. Iculding no speacial credit etc

then your a better man than me, about 85 % of my calls everyday is somebody mad b/c thier fon is broke, and at the end of the day, it gets kinda old, not to mention they have had to be transferred 4 times and wait on hold for me for 20 mins, b/c we're in back to back que. It would make me mad, so I cant really blame them,

well you could always tell them if they arent satisfied with our warranty process of they dont want to pay the $20.00 they could always go through the manufacturer and wait 4-6 weeks for them to repair or replace the phone and send it back. 😛

i love those customers who say they lost "thousands of dollars in business" because their cellphone crapped out on them for one day. it may be true but hell, go scream at moto or nokia..

screaming at any wireless service provider about a defective phone is like screaming at the cable company because your tv went out.

just my 2 cents 😛
