Hi guys I got the link to this article from some guy here at phonescoop.com I thought I'd share it with you, I know it's long, I was written by one of the guys who helped invent CDMA, very interesting Enjoy!

Anxio!

P.S. I think it's funny when they talk about Europe going to CDMA after all, because this is the only thechnology that supports our needs...

Spoken like a true CDMAHead who is scared to death of the combining of the two largest GSM networks stealing all his market share. If you guys had to drop out AMPS you'd be dead! You sit in these forums and blast GSM for being "old news", but the plans you promote so heavily rely largely on analog roaming, which is even older. You tout EVDO, which due to its burstiness is not stable enough for mission-critical data without corruption. The truth is this... people will use what they like. Millions like CDMA, millions like GSM...get over it. There's more than one way to cook a steak...but everybody eats anyways.

While I myself don't like listening to "CDMAheads" boast about their service and its inherent greatness, I'm going to politely disagree with you on the merits of EVDO. I've read a handful of articles by respected techies who've tested EVDO in both San Diego and Washington, D.C. According to them they saw consistent speeds of 300-500 kilobits per second, and at times even saw short periods of 700-800 kilobits per second. Bursts were clocked at close to 2 mega bits per second. The real test, however, will be when EVDO breaks nationwide. But you do have to admit that a wireless netw...

Go tell this to someone who cares, in a forum thats relavent to the issue, its old news, you've beaten the dead horse way, way too many times.

CDMA is a dying breed, guys, WCDMA (which is only loosely related to CDMA at all, more related to GSM really) is the way to go.

Sheesh.

Sheesh.

That's the best you can come up with in regards to a well-thought out post? Gee, why don't you venture over to Europe where alot of those WCDMA bigwigs are considering CDMA. I suggest you read some actual papers (and by papers I mean material written by PhDs on the subject) and THEN come back and post...thoughtfully.

I have been reading these forums for months now, so here we go.
The millions of cell customers don't care about CDMA, GSM, and so on, and so on. They and I don't need the "lastest" phones out there. If you place a call, and it goes through with no problems, that's it! That's all that counts.
Of the millions of people who use cell phones out there, what minuscule of percentage of them are on this forum. Probably around .oooo1%! That percentage of the people that are on all of the time must have some serious life issues, get off the computers and get a life.
If all you can do is argue, brag, or denounce one another, what makes you think your opinion means anything? Do you know what? Your opinions mean nothing!
