Apparantly, they have an entire "Reverse Migration" program available for people to switch back to TDMA because their GSM network is lousy.
ATT Customer service is just as bad as thier network.
Putting customer service aside, If thier network is lousy and the service is not usable, what good would even the "best" customer service be.
Would the ability to pick up your "home" phone and call a customer service rep regarding your unusable GSM mobile be worth $50 a month? If it is than get ATT Wireless and tell your friends what great customer service you receive.
I'm switching to Verizon, most of my colleagues use Verizon...
And i do agree that 95% of the time your rep will be a complete idiot with lower than an 8th grade education, or they just plain dont care about anything else than they're paycheck.
As for me, I wouldnt get an ATTWS phone to save my life. Even though GSM service is alot better in Canada. If I had my way I'd go with someone like Fido or something. *shrugs*
I wouldn't touch their GSM for at least three or four years.
First they tolod me that the website is wrong, then they told me they are coming to my area, it could be weeks, then said maybe a month and then they tell me that the FCC turn them down for a GSM license.
But I was told that they bought USCellular which I believe they share the same towers with Atts.

I may hate attws but i love my paycheck. and trust me, if you get me on the phone i'll give you good customer service, because its my job. The fact that there are alot of idiots does not take away from the thousands of employees that are good at they're job. Dont just pigeon hold us like that. I hold some form of pride in my work, and i dont appreciate people saying that just because we dont agree with the way that AT&T works, that we automatically make Customer Care a bad experience. Its depressing, but i still do my job, and i do it the best i can.
You and I both know that we pay full price for the phones from the manufacture, and that comes out of ATTWS pocket. Our existing customers are able to take advantage of those promotions as well as the upgrade program
