ATT Sucks!!!

My GSM service doesn't work at my place of business, or my home. I can only get service while driving to and from work. ATT Said it's most likely my phone and the new GSM phones they offer are better. Their solution: Migrate me BACK to the TDMA network and give me an old phone, this doesn't work since I have 100+ names/numbers in my phone which will not be stored on the crappy phone they give me.

Apparantly, they have an entire "Reverse Migration" program available for people to switch back to TDMA because their GSM network is lousy.

ATT Customer service is just as bad as thier network. Mad

dont confust att customer care with thier network... actually thier customer care is highly up there better than sprint ok... they are just trying to give you the truthful options.

Actually thier customer care is littered with idiots incapable of stringing together a solid english sentence. I've talked to 3 reps so far and they have all been morons. Maybe I've just been unlucky, but I would think I would get at least one rep capable of conversation beyond 8th grade competency levels.

Putting customer service aside, If thier network is lousy and the service is not usable, what good would even the "best" customer service be.

Would the ability to pick up your "home" phone and call a customer service rep regarding your unusable GSM mobile be worth $50 a month? If it is than get ATT Wireless and tell your friends what great customer service you receive.

I'm switching to Verizon, most of my colleagues use Verizon...

Lol, The worst part of AT&T is the fact that i work for them lol. I work for a call center company that is under contract for At$t wireless.

And i do agree that 95% of the time your rep will be a complete idiot with lower than an 8th grade education, or they just plain dont care about anything else than they're paycheck.

As for me, I wouldnt get an ATTWS phone to save my life. Even though GSM service is alot better in Canada. If I had my way I'd go with someone like Fido or something. *shrugs*

I know what you mean, KarbonCopy. I work for them too and am sometimes disgusted with the levels of incompetencey.

I wouldn't touch their GSM for at least three or four years.

I have read all of you comments about ATT Wireless, and how you are very upset with the Customer Service and the GSM Network. I'm sure that you feel frustrated at this point with the coverage area. We DO offer a reverse migration option, that may better support your needs. We ALSO offered a 30 buyers remorse period for you to try out the phone and if it wasn't to your liking you could return it with no strings attached. As some of you may or may not know, the GSM systems is fairly new. I'm almost certain that when we switched from Analog to Digital, the transition was very similar to what we are experiencing with the switch from Digital to GSM. As I have said before, I live in Gainesville, Fl. And Attw will not allow me to change plans because of my zipcode. I can not tell you how many times I have called customer service and asked why my zipcode works in their attws website that 32614 zipcode is allowed to be serviced by attws.
First they tolod me that the website is wrong, then they told me they are coming to my area, it could be weeks, then said maybe a month and then they tell me that the FCC turn them down for a GSM license.
But I was told that they bought USCellular which I believe they share the same towers with Atts.
Jllana, I wish someone would give the straight scoop. Jllana can you tell me once and for all, if Attws will be in my area in the next 2 or ...

ok wait your moved to that zip code because that zipcode is part of our coverage area already who is giving you this info.. i work for customer care is this a digital acct or gsm i would like to contact you re: what your issue is really.. can u be more specific what exactly are u trying to accomplish

I took the phone back several times in the first month and they switched cards, and phones, and told me they were expanding the network "daily". In hindsight I should have realized they were making this stuff up to cover up for their weak infrastructure. I will be switching to Verizon on November 24th when I can retain my number. I was quite pleased to see some data from which showed ATTWS has one of the highest percentage of customers electing to switch networks when the contracts expire, second to T-Mobile. I can only hope that they see a flood of unhappy customers extracting revenge on November 24th.

I hope that you have better luck with another provider. Its definetly a shame, but understandable that ATTWS doesnt have coverage to support ALL of our customers needs!!! GOOD LUCK!!! Laughing

I would like to know which call center that you work for. Are you an indirect dealer? You should think next time what you say about the company you work for, one day it may turn around and get you in a situation that you could have avoided. ATT Wireless is a great company to work for-Im sorry that you arent having a good experience with us..do u mind giving me some feedback? Thanks

Hey cindibear721, Ya know technically i dont work for attws, i work for a call center under contract with at&t.
I may hate attws but i love my paycheck. and trust me, if you get me on the phone i'll give you good customer service, because its my job. The fact that there are alot of idiots does not take away from the thousands of employees that are good at they're job. Dont just pigeon hold us like that. I hold some form of pride in my work, and i dont appreciate people saying that just because we dont agree with the way that AT&T works, that we automatically make Customer Care a bad experience. Thats definantly the most juvenile opion. I'm not trying to chew you out, but next time try not to just group us together with all the idiots. Take ...

You see i do work for attws directly and i feel that you should be grateful you still have a job if you worked for us directly you would know that we are one of the top cell phone companies and for good reason yes we have our faults but then again so does every company. Juvenile opinion no what is juvenile is your attitude "sucks" is truly an adult word. So for those of us who take pride not only in the job we do but also for the company we work for i can say attws is trying their best to make everyone happy but again we can only do so much

I got no problem with the company its the policies. They dont care about long time customers, just first time.
Its depressing, but i still do my job, and i do it the best i can.

Do you feel that way because we dont offer FREE phones to existing customers? But yet we are the only company that offeres upgrades as often as we do....

You and I both know that we pay full price for the phones from the manufacture, and that comes out of ATTWS pocket. Our existing customers are able to take advantage of those promotions as well as the upgrade program Laughing
