Yes they do get paid more they also get free phone plans and extra crap like that. Of course they are way more strict with PAR than we are.

More strict with par?? My TL is super strict with PAR at convergys. But yes they get paid more, the reason they outsource is to save money.

I love my job, I get paid good money to sit and read a book most days... still being on the blue side means lots of spare time between calls... yeah, it's not nice being treated like the lowest possible denominator, but then again, if I wasn't, I'd probably have a job somewhere else by now, wouldn't I?

i actually don't think we are paid that much and it is a terrible place to work. They expect u to be professional all the time but most managers dont give u that respect because they feel they can show that they are above u. I got in many arguments with TL being a$$holes.
As for PAR, it's the stupidest think ive ever seen since the numbers messured in PAR are ALL conditional to the calls that day. It's rediculous really. I havent hit it in 6 weeks. My % is 0 and my TL hasnt said anything to me because she knows that i think it's stupid and that I dont care what my numbers are. Everytime, my answer is "do you want me to do my job and help the customer in anyway i can and have great customer service or hit these stupid numbers. Take ...

Convergys sucks horribly. We get PAID worse, do twice as much WORK, treated like DIRT, many TL's are incompetent, and we are constantly threatened about EVERYTHING.

Thank god I had an interview for another job yesterday giving a glimmer of hope that I will be out of this hell hole soon.

Its not like this job is hard or demanding physically or mentally. Hell I only make 8 dollars an hour. I work for a different outsourcing company called startek. Granted we have a lot of the same issues that the rest of you have. The thing is every job will suck when you are either low skilled or live in a market with a low cost of living. If you went to another job, i'm sure most of you would find something else to cry about.

Well that depends. The thread starter was asking about how Cingular employees fare compared to those who work for Convergys. I was conveying how working outsource is so much worse, and I am quite sure in order to work here you have to meet the same standards as working for Cingular.
