using another carriers phone

a buddy of mine was unloading some phones that he had and gave me his scp-8100. I was wondering if this phone could be used on another carrier (cingular/suncom) or is it just a sprint phone?

If that phones was for Sprint service, then you would not be able to use it on AT&T/Cingular.

Sprint = CDMA
Cingular = GSM
