new cingular plan offered on a website. Im with Sun Com. how long till I can get this deal. Ofcourse theres no Cingular here in the Richmond Market, but its available where my parents live, but thats 70 miles away.

How can I get this great deal now and use it with this forever taking merger.

Wow what website was showing this deal? Just a suggestion, go enter your zip code on the Cingular website and see if your in a Cingular Home Calling Area.

I think you may have to just leave Sun Com in order to take that deal, I don't think there is a way to migrate over without an Early Termination Fee.

If you have no coverage in your area I think it might be in your best interest to not switch unless you travel across the US.

i put my zip in and it gives me nothing. just theres no service reported for the area. It just gives me a link to sumcons site. Im not on contract with Sumcon now, as my contract (1 year) ran up like 3 years ago and Im month to month. So I dont think that I would have top pay a early term. fee. Is that right??

thats why im wondering when I can start looking at new phones when this whole merger takes place. My phone now is getting old, (nokia 8265. the battery dies quick and the lights on the screen flicker, and I dont want to invest any kind of money in a bettery or whatever. no matter how cheap they are) Suncom doesnt offer jack for phones, and I cant even get past the zip prompt for cingular.

Ouch ok then, what you may have to do is enter a billing address for a zip code that does register. Keep in mind you will probably NOT get service at your address as it may not fall in coverage, however if other copanies have towers there and there is the roaming agreement then it should work out.

Now AWS had a policy that 51% of the calls made must be on Network. If they exceed this percentage then you get notified of other options to stop this which could up with termination.

I have no idea what Cingular's policy is on this. Just be aware of the consequences should something happen down the road that you get something like this.

Another thing to check out is with a valid zip at the website, see if there is going to be future cov...

i know there will be coverage because of the whole SunCom/Cingular merger. Thats no problem, I just want to know WHEN. I mean, I could get the phone ship it to my parents house, get a contract if need be, then cancel it with in 48 hours, or whatever the law says now.

Why yes! You could try to game the system to save a couple of dollars! Don't forget to call into customer care and complain when things don't work out like you thought they would. If you get a phone at a discount with a 2-year contract and then cancel the contract within the buyer's remorse period, you have to send the phone back. If you don't, you WILL get a new bill for the undiscounted price of the phone. I pretty sure that this will happen with EVERY carrier in the US. So, go ahead and enjoy your adventure!

Probably because nobody knows for sure. Last I heard, it was supposed to be sometime March/April, but even that isn't firm.

Yeah I would have said when it went through but I don't know myself, and I do apologize for not specifically stating I don't know.
