If you go into siebel, under the activation order, they are pretty much indirect dealers, either online or indirect dealer stores, they were allowed to deplete their attws stock of phones, since we won't buy back their phones

Ay, but why not limit to 12 months? It seems silly to lock them in to 2 years when they won't be able to buy phones for their service 12 months down the line. *shrugs*

Cuz they get paid higher commission if they get to take a 2 year as opposed to 1 year, so simply matter of making more bucks off some poor bastard that will within next year do something that causes him to need to migrate!!!!

I think it's more that people are cheap and don't want to pay more for a 1 year contract. I've only sold Cingy, but the difference the store makes here on a 1 and 2 year is only $5. I'd rather lose the $5 and sell them another phone next year.

Also, those people on a 2 year will be able to migrate with no ETF as long as they're not in a divested market. If they are.... eh, that just sucks.

oddly enough, I had a customer earlier that migrated from blue TDMA to blue GSM on january 24th, and that was done over the phone, and it appears it was with DMDR. I don't have the customer's number anymore so I can't go back and check the equipment and migration orders, but I do know that the equipment itself went out to the customer from our NDC and not from any indrect dealer. it really sucked because she was just a week outside buyer's remorse on the equipment, because she activated like 2 weeks after she ordered the phone.
