AT&T Wireless sets mid-February deadline for bids

PHILADELPHIA, Jan 27 (Reuters) - AT&T Wireless Services Inc. on Tuesday set a mid-February deadline for suitors to submit final offers, dragging out the speculation over the fate of the No. 3 U.S. wireless company for another three weeks.
AT&T Wireless (AWE.N: Quote, Profile, Research) , which has a market capitalization of about $30.36 billion, said it expects firm proposals to be submitted by Feb. 13. It agreed not to forge any contract or agreement for a deal before then, according to a U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission filing.

As for the possible suitors, Deutch Telecom (owners of T-Mobile) announced today that they are not in an acquistion mindset at this time.
I think the Cingular thing will happen. It makes the most sense. Same technology, etc. The question remains for how much????
