The planets and stars are aligning for a buyout/merger....IMO.

Too many things happening in the industry for there not to be something happening...again IMO.

The official AT&T response we are to say is something like:

"We did not hear anything about these rumours."

I think that's what the email said anyway.

they ARE talking about plans to merger. but it has to go through higher people and fcc and people like that first. could be a couple of years before anything happens. plus, if cingulaer and attws do merg, verizon wil be ****tin briks.

and how exactly would that merger affect verizon's "greatness"? if you're assuming that a merger between cingular and at&t will make the meshed company a great company then you obviously don't understand how the business works. true, they would be larger (in terms of customer base)-- is that what you mean by great? or are you forgetting that cingular will inherit 6 billion in debt acquired by at&t?
