I realize you guys are probably answering these questions over and over, and if my lazy ass would just keep searching I would find an answer. So first let me say thank you for your help.

Now for my question: When I switched to ATT in October, I was told my old T616 would not work with an ATT sim and I would have to buy 2 new phones (signing up for family plan). So I purchased two T637 phones. When I got home, I put my new sim in my old T616, and it work perfectly. This is the standard answer... I haven't tried a Cingular 64K SIM on that particular model... But you can try it... No guarantees that it will work perfectly though... I mean Voice and Data... Basically if an ATTWS customer wants to go to Cingular... You have to get Cingular phones... Luckily you get discounts... 😁

WELL, it depends on the phone. ALL THE MOTOROLA V... PHONES are UNLOCKED AT&T/CINGULAR (only) you can use a cingular sim in an AT&T phone. MOST of the new phones you can. It just depends on the model. Its didn't work on my Nokia phones, but I could use my V505 with both sims and you can switch networks to pick up both towers. But on my Sony Ericsson, and my Audiovox 5600, it didn't work.

if the phone is locked then you will not be able to use it on another carrier. if the phone is unlocked then you will be able to use any sim you want in it.

you want to get a cingular sim card and use it with your AT&T phones. keep in mind to make these sim cards work they have to be activated. also keep in mind for them to be activated you need to pay for the service. now if you have service on cingular sim cards and AT&T sim cards you are paying double for your service until you cancel your AT&T sim card/service.

you will not be able to activate a Cingular 64K sim card on your AT&T account. yes cinguklar purchased AT&T but they are atill on different billing systems and networks.

now, if you want to cancel your AT&T account or i...
