im in the richmond va area with and with suncom. My contract with them expired along time ago, and just go month to month and can cancel whenever. So does that mean that when Cingular takes over fully, Ill have to get a 1 or 2 year contract? sorry if im repeating myself, but the suncom and at&t websites offer only "PR" type info and no real answers.

also wondering when my cell phone will say cingular on the screen. My roommates nokia has a at&t startup screen. im sure that will be a collectible in a couple years.

No. Your AWS/Suncom account will stay with suncom. Cingular did not buy Suncom markets yes. Although they are looking at doing it. You are a Suncom (and not a former suncom area) then you are fine. Even without that all AWS customers Keep their contracts or lack there of when Cingular purchased the company. If you wish to get Cingular plans or phones you will have to get a new contract.

that seems different from all the times ive asked when I went to pay my bill. the associates behind the counter said that all suncom except those down south of virginia (The carolinas and such) are part of the takeover, and the "change" would start in november. So i was just wondering when my alpha tag would go from SunCom AT&T to cingular. (i know how to change it myself tho)
