Billing nightmares

This problem isn't affecting me, but a lady I work with. She lives in the 63701 zip code - SE Missouri.

She has the Go Phone plan from ATTWS and things have apparently been hunky-dory for a long time (several years). In the past few weeks, she seems to be constantly roaming off Cingular towers whenever she uses her phone and being charged 2.5 minutes per minute of air time. I know that's somewhat customary for pay as you go phone plans, but the kicker is that this isn't happening when she's 1000 miles from home. It's all over the area here. It even happens when she's at home and there is an ATTWS tower not too far from her house.

Have ATTWS/Cingular changed something about how the Go Phone plans are being handled in regards to ...

Hm, depends on her phone. Being in a technical background, I might think that perhaps her phone is now not reading one of the signal frequencies available to her (if she has both 850 and 1900 mhz on her phone). So now, rather than seeing ATTWS towers, she is reading off of Cingular towers of the frequency she has left?

I dunno, but that's a thought. Her phone may need repairs. If it's the phone, she would want to contact Nokia for more information on repairs. 1 (88😎 665 4228 Hours of Operation: 8:00am to 12:00am Eastern time - 7 days a week

Hmmm... I don't think they are changing over towers from 1900 mhz to 850, but I'm not sure. You might also want to call customer care to have them contact technical support to check on that.
