i get a call, routine suspention for lost or stolen, i go ahead and suspend, tell the cust that he has 30 days before the line cancels itself, anyway, i hop back on here and type a reply, then i get another call...."thanks for holding this is !%!@$!#$ how can i help you today?" and the reply, i think i just talked to you, i was like, ya right which is usually the case, what with (especially today) numerous call centers with the hundreds of agents, on a slow day with almost everyone in auto in....but low and behold it was the same guy calling to reinstate because he found his phone.... has this happened to anyone else? because i was told in training the chances of getting the same cust twice (ever, let alone in a row) is like winning the lott...

I had this woman call in because someone kept reactivating her account and she wanted it suspended. So i suspended and put a password on the account for her. Next call was the User of that account wondering why his phone was shut off πŸ˜› He says it was an ex girl friend trying to screw him and his real gf was the account holder. Nothing i could do. The ex got there first and so the real owner has to go into the store and prove who she is.

I haven't worked in a call center for cell phones, but I worked in one for a credit card company. Those creepy calls happen in those call centers too, but not as often.

I had one where a guy called in from a home depot because a lady was trying to use her husbands card to buy some stuff. I told him that the only person who can use his card is the card person whose name is on the card, no one else. I then noted the account and suspended the card until the husband called in.

I get a call 5 minutes later and it's the wife calling in asking what has happened and why she couldn't use the card. I had to explain to her what happened and finally just told her to go home and get her own card and use it. That lady impressed me with her know...

all of att call centers are on a system called smart routing, if the customer you just spoke to calls right back in and you are available (no matter how many other people are available too) the call will be routed to you, it is very rare, but it will usually happen on a slow night.
But dont be scared, it IS what our routing system is designed to do.

I do CS for Cingular via West, an outsourced company, but I can say that this has happened to me a couple times, and I've only been working for a few weeks. I even got the same customer adding minutes to her other phone she has, about an hour later, on a really busy night.

Crazy.

I work at a different company, but yeah, it's a pretty big crapshoot.

I've gotten one customer within the same day once, ever.

I've gotten about three customers that when I look at the remarks I've helped them at *some* point in time before, although that might have been a year ago.

One Sunday a long time ago I had a guy call in and ask for the Landline # to call back on. I gave him the # and got his acct up to just notate what i told him. Then in 1 min with about 40 reps available. I got him wanting to make a payment. I thought i was nuts when the same account came up that I asked him to clarify the cell # like 4 times before i clued in. Other then that i just had this one lady. Advised her how many min she had in her plan. Noted the acct and went on my way. 2 months later i got her disputing overage charges and saying she didnt know how many min she had 😁 Now that was a fun call. 😁

I was one talking with a Sprint agent, trying to find out if the ESN was cleared for a phone. She placed me on hold, which is kinda stupid since it's a simple process. I hung up and decided to call back. I called back and I got her again. It was kind of awkward because she sounded very pissy.

There was an RM rep who cold transfered a customer to be this afternoon because she wanted to cancel svc because she sent a "note in with her bill" saying she would pay the other past due next month and I explained to her this is not so and she would have needed to call us to setup the necessary arrangements to avoid suspension. Well she decided to make the payment and I was pissed because the prior rep did not warm transfer this nasty lady and also left no notes, so I call RM and get a rep and tell him the number and situation, he says "Oh that was the call I just transferred...", here I was with the customer on mute prior to transferring back to RM calling this dude a knob. πŸ™„

Hahahaha I had tech hang up on me (on purpose) a long long time ago.
still not really sure why.

but I called right back and got him again, he was like "ahh.. ah.. we somehow got disconnected, I'm so glad you called back"

anyway, he took about 20 minutes to fix the problem, had to call NSC.
