Gophone service and customers

I have been wanting to rant about this for a very long time. As far as I am concerened this service is really a joke, especially for those customers who say they are using this for business purposes. My question has always been if you are running a business with this type of service, what sort of business are you in? Also everyone that has a gophone needs to understand that this is one of the worst services to have if you have a mechanical defect with your device. AWS has no recourse, but to tell the customer to go to the manufacturer or buy a new phone. Also people need to learn how gophone service works, i.e. if anything is used on the service it will come out of the balance that you have on your acct. If text messaging, mmode, etc is used...

The main thing that any type of prepaid service is good for is people with children who need/want phones but are responsible enough to keep low usage. There are a lot of customers that could have saved huge amounts of money if they would have signed up for gophone rather then postpaid.

Thats true when gophones are used in that manner, however when someone calls in and says I use this phone for business purposes....I mean come on if you are running a business the you should have a postpaid acct.

Go-phone is great in concept. It is not as expensive as prepaid, and not as cheap as a contract. It is not a bad deal for credit challenged. it is perfect for foreign visitors or exchange students. that is who we sell a lot of it to. And yes, you pay for what you use. that is why they say "up to 400 or whatever amount of minutes"
By the way as of 10/11/04, no more international dialing on Go-phone. Just got the update in my email. Only complaint is that Dealer compensatiom model for Go-phone kinda stinks. We only do a dozen or so a month so no biggie.

Ya but they bring in so much revenue for the company. I mean your are usually paying through the nose for prepaid and the company doesn't ever have to worry about collection agency's. I'm just waiting for prepaid with a contract 😈 pay your ETF upfront and then when your contract is done you get it back.

Not only that, there are people, like myself for instance, who have stellar credit, but don't want to sign on to two years with a husband, never mind a wireless company. All I want is to be able to make a call and not necessarily have to be home to do it, and I also want to be able to use it I get a flat tire in rural Oklahoma, for instance.

😈 😈

Go phone customers are a joke, they don't like it when they get shut off,but won't go post paid because they usually have poor credit, but soon as its off they demand to turn it on now or if they can't afford it ask for credit to get it on after the nights and weekend start to 'get them through the night" but try to get them to ake payment instead is like you ask for their first born or something!!!!!

They want the benifits of a contracted service but they won't step up to the plate to do what it takes to get it then moan about why att is so bad to them 😈 😈 😈

Why does this supprise you? This is a prepaid phone. Did you expect to get the txt messaging and mmode for free? How do other company's charge for WAP and text messaging on there prepaid phone. All the ones i've heard of do exacly the same thing. If you use it then it comes out of your balance. You pay your $40 and you get your 400 minutes and if you use $10 in txt messaging then you have only paied $30 for you minutes so you should only get 300. This seems resonable and fair to me. Any other opinions?
