The thing is that the customers on the UnPlan will still be subject to the same MOU terms... just like SunCom cancelled service for a number of customers that were using 10000+ minutes a month... T-Mobile has bascally the same policy.
SunCom has been losing money for a large number of reasons, I worked for them for a couple years and the pricing of their rate plans was only a small part of the problem in my opinion. Porting from AWS was a total nightmare and left a bad tasts in the mouths of many customers; departments in SunCom worked way too much against each other and not enough for each other. It happened constantly that different departments would issue conflicting policy changes and such. SunCom was a perfect example of the bad sides of divisionalisation.
