Quick question: I've been a verizon customer for about 18 months, my contract expires in 06/04... my business situation is such that I'm in dire need of a blackberry type device right away. Is there anyway that I can avoid having to pay full retail for a new phone if I get it b/f my contract expires? Don't know if it matters, but my monthly bill is about $150 to $200 -- always paid on time.

Appreciate your input.

There is an early upgrade policy that states if you have had the phone for 12 months and are on a plan of 49.99 or higher you can upgrade early. Call Customer service and they will be able to help you out.

No, he is being allowed to upgrade early. It reset the new every two feature. This really only applies to a two year contract.
