VZW corporate stores dress code?

Just wondering what the dress code is for corporate store throughout the country. In the Pacific Northwest region the guys have to wear a shirt and tie. I'm f***ing sick of it! I have been told that corporate stores in other regions just wear the VZW polo shirts. I just want to confirm that. Customers don't give a crap how the sales person is dressed. As long as they are honest and knowledgeable.

If you want to be a good rep, you need to look preofeessional. That's a different look in different parts of the country. If you don't look profeswsional when we walk into yhour store, we won't bother to find out how much you know. We have the option to walk out. Did your mother ever tell you about the importance of a first impression? She was right!

There is some truth to this. I feel like I dress like a car sales men, and we all know car sales men are not to be trusted. I just think it would make customers feel more at ease if we weren't dressed so formal.

Different regions do have different dress requirements. For example, the NorthEast dress code is shirt and tie (or suit if you want). I was told the South region wears polo shirts and this is mainly because of the heat issue. I don't know that for a fact. The decision lies with you regional president and from my experience, they have absolutely no intension of changing it. In the NorthEast all the Regional Directors and DM's feel that the shirt and tie look set you apart from the other carriers, you look more professional. In this area a majority of sales people where company polo shirts (which if not taken proper care of can look like crap after a short period of time, and there are those who don't take care of their shirts, i remember havi...

Especially if they were uniform or all of the same color.

In my store it's just shirt and tie and when you go in there it's always really crowded and hard to tell the employees from regular customers who happen to be wearing a shirt and tie.

Red polos with a Verizon logo would make things much easier!

No thanks, you walk around in a red polo. I like to look professional and wear a suit every day.

You can wear suits if you like but it's not going to make the environment professional.

Maybe it's just my local store but I've never been to Verizon and seen anything less than chaos. People all crammed around the new phones, people milling around trying to find someone to help them, lines of people for sales, then people stand in line for 45 minutes only to be told they're in the wrong line so they need to go to the even longer customer service line. So they're in the middle of the floor angry now, there are little kids running around, ripping the phones off the wall which causes them to make this awful beeping noise. Not enough reps so the beeping goes on and on. It's chaos. Even with bright red shirts it would be tricky trying ...

There is a lot of truth to your post. VZW needs more stores to handle the 53+ million customers. And a more comfortable dress code. No one said the shirts had to be red, there are 5 or 6 different shirts available and only one of them is red. Thanks for your support.

The polo shirt thing, IMO, nrings the store to a 'Big Box' electronincs store look. Noth that it's that bad but the knowledge of a reps in those stores is spotty and this would represent that type of deal. However, I would submit that a shirt and a tie only functions as a mask of knowledge as with anything, expertise can vary for anything 🙂

at the corporate store in my area not only do the guys have to wear shirt and tie, their pants have to be darker then their shirts! The have all of these funky rules about color coordination, and what colors are appropriate. its crazy! where we work its just business casual, and/or logo polos. Customers don't seem to care as long as we know what we are talking about.

This is the same in my region. The delima is that the guys have to wear shirt and tie and the women basically get to wear what ever they feel like wearing. It would be much easier to enforce a dress code if everyone was the same. If I have to wear a tie everyday then the woman should have to wear a skirt or dress with full ...

i'm a chic and i would wear a shirt and tie ANY day over skirts and pantyhose. what sucks about such a formal dresscode is for the people that work with inventory and are lifting and moving boxes in the inventory with "dressy" clothes on.

thats because you don't have to wear it EVERYDAY! Try wearing that tight ass tie around you neck all day it's like a F@#%ing noose. not to mention you have to keep clean shaven and hell razor burn on your neck with a noose around it???? come on whatcha got to compare to that? you women have it easy (atleast as far as the dress code goes!)

also you girls can just wear pants if you don't want to wear pantyhose. I have nothing but my noose. but I'm glad to wear it because I agree with most people on here that it sets you apart. If not from the customer than atleast from other wireless service providers.

Actually I have heard that they have done a number focus groups that have addressed dress codes and most customers that stated that they feel that a shirt and tie and/or suit suit dress code make the environment look and feel much more professional.
On top of that there are many physcological studies that have shown a direct relationship between how a person is dressed and how a person acts and feels. The more casual one dress the more casual they are gioing to act, the more professional the one dresses the more professional they will act.
