Yes I believe it's true there seems to be some good changes heading verizons way. Bonoriffic on wirelessadvisor told of the UI changes long before announced on this site and also states OBEX is coming. 🙂

after reading through some of the HowardForum... it sounds like the OBEX transfer is only opened by the upgrade if you currently have version .02 which means you already have it.
The .03 to .04 upgrade opens bluetooth but not OBEX...

IMO, due to their superior service VZW can always be a little more restrictive than their competitors. However, every once in a while you have to throw the disgruntled masses a bone. I think OBEX capabilities will spread to all the next generation of VZW phones, but it will be a long time before they break anything else loose in terms of facilitating off-network data availability. I will be surprised if those with current generation phones (except RAZR) will get updates to allow OBEX.
