Ok heres the issue. I will fully charge my phone and then when I go to make a call anywhere from 10-20 mins the phone begins to blink low battery or sometimes shuts off. If the phone shuts off and I turn it back on or I end the call the battery indicator goes back up, to say two or three bars. Is this a problem with the phone or the battery? It does this all the time.

Thanks!

How long have you had it? I ask because this is a phone that has been out for awhile. If you have had it a long time, I'd say first try buying a new battery and see if that helps. If not, it is probably the phone and if you are still within your 1 year manufacturer's warranty, take it into a Verizon store and have it replaced with a FRU. Or you could always take it to a tech and have them decipher what the problem is.

I had 2 LG 6100's at the same time in my family. One of my 6100's did the same thing, the other did not. The phone would often power itself off as soon as I took the charger out. It would also power itself off for no apparent reason, even though the battery was fully charged. I think the problem was a phone defect, not a battery problem. I ended up just getting another phone as the problematic 6100 was over a year old.

This one i've seen as a battery problem. take the battery out of the phone. It most likely is startig to buldge in the center. take a look at the batery terminals. there's a Liquid Damage indicator right there. on the older style batteries it should be a sold black that shifts grey/purple when wet. Some may have white/red dots that bleed when wet.

I'd try purchasing a new battery. if that doesn't resolve it, you have 15days to return said batery.

The phone is 18mos old. So now I am trying to decide if I should just get a new battery or a new phone. The phone is in great condition and I love the solid construction of the LG, just not crazy about the 8100.

I have no major probs with the 81, it's the second best phone out there (815 being tops, IMO). kinda dont like how it wont play mp3's and midi's in the same folder. it's not that hacker-friendly either, but i don't think that's a valid greavance with the phone.
