Dear Bogert,
From what I have read, I learned that iPhones cost the carriers money. Apple does not give carriers any discounts for buying in bulk, plus Apple has several agreements in place to where the carrier has to pay Apple subsidies, so carriers don't make any profit on your account until 20 months into the contract.
With other kinds of smartphones, Verizon doesn't have to be out the money, and they can make a profit sooner so they have their reps steer people toward Android, Windows, etc.

In more detail:
A) Typically, a Rep will ask you what you want for a phone. If you want a big screen, the iPhone ain't for you. And if you currently have an Android phone, most Reps will direct to something
B) This is primarily for the 4S right now. There are OBJECTIVELY better phones for 0.99.
C) Expect an Android fan to recommend Androids.
D) iPhones are on back order in a lot of areas. They'll change recommendations based on wait time.

Ha ha, I agree with that! My Droid Maxx makes my iPhone friends jealous, especially with the touchless commands. The screen alone makes them green with envy.
