I pay about $230 per month 3 lines sharing 1400. The incredible Data and tethering. $10 msg bundle on the 8300. *Shrug* Verizon or AT&T are not the carriers to be on if you like counting pennies. Their prices are high as *Bleep* and they don't really care if you like it or not. Farewell T-Mobile. *Sniff, sniff*

Sounds about right but that must be before taxes. 2 Lines on 1400 Talk and Text are $119.99 and then $29.99 each for data is $179.97.

Or 700 minutes on the talk and text plan.

$99.99 plus $29.99x2 ($59.9😎 = $159.97, add about 12% tax and you're just over $179. If there's an employee discount in there, then the tax would likely be higher by this math.

No that's after taxes I get a discount from my job since the entire company uses Verizon for PTT.

Register for Google Voice and do all your texting through the Google Voice App.

Saves you $30/month to NOT have carrier-regulated SMS.

The only real losses are lack of short-code and MMS support. For me, it's a small sacrifice to save $30 every month!

People paying over $200+ on a cellphone bill? 😲
Don't care who you are calling. Not worth it.

Wow, I see you responded back as well. Bothersome threads I simply ignore. πŸ™„

Anyway, I've been doing this since 2006, pop in a couple times a year and look around and post wherever I feel like it. I still post on one of my phones at the time I created the account. So not out of boredom but something I've done for about 7 years.

I pay about $150 for 2 lines 700 minutes, unlimited in network texts on both, unlimited data on 2 smartphones, and insurance on both phones, but I have a discount through the company I work for (a T-Mobile call center. LOL!) It was $180 after taxes before I added my discount though.

I know this thread is really old but you should check out the new share everything plans. Depending on how much data you need could save some $$.

for example unlimted talk & text sharing 8 gb would be 160 and that is if each phone needs 4gb.

Share Everything is like "the first hit is free". Share Everything Plus LTE equals more revenue in Verizon's pockets. Stop trolling.

I don't think its trolling though. I DID save a SMB account about $100 a month by switching them to a SE plan. They did lose their unlimited data, but the price savings more than made up for it.

SE plans are not quite for everybody. They work out extremely well for some, though

Wonderful. The effects of Share Everything and LTE simply cannot be determined by present usage. Verizon's CFO Shammo is betting that VZW customers will eventually need higher tier data plans though. I agree.

Completely agree. I've analyzed plenty of accounts and some folks save a lot, some save a little and some would have their bills go up if they switched the SE. It all depends on the combination of type of phone and amount of data usage by all. The unsung hero of SE (again, depending on the users) is the unlimited calling and unlimited texting. No more having to worry about whether its past 9pm or if the other person has Verizon to make it a M2M call or whatever. And with the free add-on of the mobile hotspot, some folks will eventually cancel their standalone hotspots and USB modems. How's that for "evil?" Revenue is about the same but the implementation of it is simpler than before.

Cannot analyze present day usage and determine what this plan is going to cost consumers down the road when there are four or five LTE devices humming away. But Verizon's CFO, Shammo is betting that these poor saps will need higher tiers in the future. I guess he's not just evil but rather an evil genius. Nothing like the pigs walking to the slaughter pens without a struggle, eh?

As Russell Casse once said "I'm Baaaaaack" after 6 years. I'm still with Verizon and use an Android phone with unlimited text and call and a few gigs for a monthly prepaid plan of only $30. Far cry from the $$ Sprint CHARGED me back in 2011.
