I am trying to change my carrier from US Cellular to Wal-Mart Straight Talk which is carried by Verizon. I would like to purchase a Kyocera Duraxt but can't seem to find one that uses Verizon. Non-existant? Also, I have been with US Cell for about 6 years without any problems but lately there have been many plus the straight talk plan is about 15 bucks a month less with more time and text. Thanks, Tom

Never heard of it. Verizon hasn't sold Kyocera devices in YEARS and years. Also for Straight Talk that uses Verizon the only devices you can use are the Straight Talk branded devices. You can't bring your own.

Your best bet to get a "budget plan" on a DuraXT is to try and get a Sprint-branded handset and see if you can activate it on Ting.

I don't think it's on the white list, but their tech support is actually TECH-savvy and they will help look for work-arounds to make stuff go for you.

Of course, this is completely dependent on the assumption that Sprint's towers provide adequate service in your area. I can't speak for that.
