Majority of this board seems to think that the average customer doesnt want a contract, when in reality they do. The average person will choose to have a contract and a discounted phone instead of paying full retail price for a device, especially if the plan prices don't change.

Most people on this board are industry geeks that don't accurately represent the US population.
