Ting has made agreements to allow almost ALL Sprint or Sprint-MVNO devices to work under their calling plan structure and billing. When implemented later this fall, that means I can pick up a legitimate Sprint-affiliated handset on ebay for $50 and activate it on a dirt-cheap calling plan.

2) My Verizon bill, even after my 18% corporate discount, is over $250 before taxes. The EXACT SAME level over coverage through Ting is $130. Verizon is 90% more expensive....

Is Verizon a better carrier than Sprint? YES!

Is Verizon service double the quality of Sprint service?

NO WAY!!! Not even close!

I'm sure it will lead me to a few inconveniences on some occasions. However, the moment I can pick up a 2-year old Sprint Android on the cheap and activate it with Ting, I'll be doing some quality testing to see if the service is adequate where I live and where I use my phone. If it works in my community, I'm dumping VZW, fast and purchasing a higher-end Android phone on TIng!

I'm already out of contract. I found out about Ting just days before I was going to set up for another term at Verizon, so now I'm in limbo. I see a 95% chance that I'm jumping ship. Just have to wait for the technical details

Anyone else out there who has (a) more than 4 phones on their account or (b) uses way more data than phone calls needs to do the same evaluation.
