Every time I send/receive a call, it gets saved into favorites. I want it to stop.
Have done a master reset. Had a CLNR and it even does it in safe mode.
You can't stop it. Motorola phones keep a "favorites" list of the people you most frequently call. During the first week or two that you have the phone, Every call that comes in is going to be pasted to the "Favorites" list because you don't have enough calling history in the phone for the software to start making a distinction between "most often called" and "rarely called" numbers.
You won't see one-time callers disappear from your favorites list until you have hundreds of calls placed/received in your call history.
Ironically, master resetting your phone and having a warranty replacement has made it more difficult for your phone to make the decisions, because every time you clear the call logs, the decision-making process starts over.
You can't stop it, you just have to deal with it. How about just not looking at the favorites list on the phone? My Samsung has the same feature, but I didn't even know it existed until I saw your post here and looked for it, and I've owned the phone for almost 2 years now.
If you have a few numbers you want quick access two, make a folder on the home screen and put all your dialing shortcuts in there. That's what I've done.
