Does Verizon offer anything similar to the ATT 3G Microcell? I am asking for an executive for the company I am working for. Apparently his cellphone (Blackberry Bold) doesn't get great service down on Martha's Vineyard.

Thanks for the help

I'm gonna guess he's referring to the device (not the service)... Network Extender 🙂

Verizon Wireless Network Extender. http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/acce ssory?action=gotoFemtocell

Click on the above link and it takes you to a page where you have to enter your zip code. Once you do it'll take you to the page with the network extender.

Of all the people who have responded here, many of them should know better. I'm shocked no one has brought this up yet:

If he just wants it for improved voice reception, these things go for about $100 on eBay.

These are the 2G network Extenders (most of them, model SCS-26UC4 == 2G). If he's got a BB Bold, he can use the Wi-Fi for his data anyway. Only reason to get one of the 3G Verizon setups is if you have dumbphones that need 3G! That's a small crowd...

NOTE: Verizon 3G is a DATA ONLY service (AT&T 3G is used for their voice services as well so having 3G matters on AT&T extenders, but not on Verizo...

Thanks dude. I knew I could get a straight answer one way or the other. He's better off grabbing one of those things on ebay? I mean seeing as though he's basically going to use to boost his cellphone voice reception not his data

I think most people say the "does Verizon offer anything similar to the ATT 3G Microcell" part of your request and went from there (i.e. Verizon and 3G-capable network extender).
