Droid X

Well I think it's time i start to face the facts. My droid x is starting to **** the bed on me. For starters no matter how many times I calibrate the touch screen I am starting to lose touch on the sides and in the middle of the screen itself. Also the phone likes to reboot itself on occasion. I would turn it off before going to sleep only to have it turn itself back on a few moments later.

Just needed to vent as I am sure there is nothing Verizon can do for me right??

Thanks

IIRC your Droid X isn't very old. Also, have these problem been happening since the latest update? I've seen some goofy glitches from the latest update that a hard reset has been able to fix.

Basically you're deleting everything from the phone and returning it to 'out of the box' condition. there are two different ways of performing this action, one from the boot screen and one through the menu system of the phone itself.

A quick google search should be able to tell you how to accomplish both of those methods.

Eventually the touchscreen wouldn't work, I couldn't slide to unlock. I had problems with the charging port. And yes, it would spontaneously reboot. I'm done with Motorola like a bad girlfriend!

Yeah someone suggested a Hard Reset but I don't want to wipe all my data. Got any other suggestions?

The best suggestion I can come up with is LEAVE Motorola behind! They need to use some other company for their touchscreens.

I know, Motorola doesn't make reliable products. But there are other Android smartphones. I have had the Samsung Droid Charge, no major problems to report.

Some jobs have their employees all tied into BB email and messaging.

Properly backed up a hard reset should only make you lose your text messages.

How old is the phone, do a warranty replacement if younger than a year.

The x is a good phone. Not all phones can be perfect, but I've seen less problems out of that phone than others.

There's nothing else to try, really. Disable all the backups and master clear the phone. run it for 2 days with NO APPS on it.

If it's still not behaving, it's broken.

I have the droid x and last night I down loaded the new platform (gingerbread) and my phone when I turn it on freezes up everything just quits and since I have insurance on the phone I guess the only option is to take it back and get a replacement. I have pulled the battery and it freezes up with in a minuet so I can't get in to do a hard reset. I like my android but this is frustrating. Any fixes?
