Hey epik, not to change the subject, but I'll change the subject...I haven't been on in awhile, how has the sale of iPhones been going for Verizon? Did anyone ever hear from Scott Herman again....? My daughter just got one (coming from the original Moto Droid) and she absolutely LOVES the battery life. She routinely gets 4 days on one charge (I couldn't go 5 hours with my droid). That and the camera seem to be the ultimate selling points for the iPhone. Has the offering finally shut up the masses or does the average Verizon customer just not care? I know I don't....still rocking the berry.

Epik,

What you complain about is the industry's doing. Locking people into contracts in exchange for a phone subsidy combined with competing carriers doing the same has created an environment of entitlement. It's wrong and it's led to, in my opinion, the worst business practices imaginable such as caps on data and minutes. The big 2 figure they've got you locked and you'll take whatever they dish out to keep getting your phone subsidies.

I'd read countless reviews and post after post of people wanting to know when a new phone was coming or what a phone did (even phones other than the iPhone). Now, people always seem to come on here asking how they can "cheat the system" somehow. There are no more reviews of just plain phones. And then - GASP - every year Apple releases a new one (I can see the iPhone37...just 32 years away) It's all very o...

And that pretty much hits the nail on the head.

I've spent many years talking about how the industry set itself up for the kind of customer entitlement it now suffers from. But being the conscientious person that I am, I've also long pointed out that the consumer is just as much to blame as the industry. A large number of people - not everyone, as you stated - are never satisfied. This is obviously not the fault of the wireless industry, as the same people who are generally unsatisfied with getting all they want from their wireless carrier are also the same people who expect something for...
