WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU VERIZON?
Yes, the other carriers SUCK when it comes to their 3/4G networks, but gosh almighty, look at their equipment. Sprint will have a 3D phone, ATT already has beat Verizon with their Moto thin LTE phone (which is getting pretty good reviews).
NO, I am NOT leaving Verizon, but come on, it is time to kick it in HIGH GEAR!! Has someone lame recently received a promotion that should NOT be there when it comes to picking and choosing new equipment at Verizon Headquarters? If you do not believe me, look at the phones the other carriers are now offering.
Again...

I absolutely agree with your comments.
First off, the network is par none. Other carriers pretend to come close, but they cannot, no matter how they try to convince the common man.
But just think 'if' VzW ALSO turned to provide the leading edge with their devices, how much more (possibly) they could win customers over to them? They would provide and offer everyone with the best of both worlds!
VzW quit being so conservative!!
Again, I am not calling the current devices crap or junk, etc. They are very good devices but just not that exciting it seems. Yes, I guess I have turned to be a Moto fan because of the Droid X, the slimness, the screen, even right down to the orange camera button! I just hope for that future...

As far as devices go, Verizon has come a long way lately. Gone are the days of waiting years for something comparable to the latest and greatest. As the LTE footprint gets larger and more reliable I expect good things from a device perspective.

So how exactly did they "beat" Verizon with a phone that has no network available to utilize it's capabilities.

If OP is talking about the Moto Atrix, then, I'm sorry for bursting your bubble, but that phone is HSPA+, not LTE. Not the sane thing
So, you FAIL.
Next time read the OP before bursting my bubble.

Again, VzW (IMO) is the best. I just hope that something (moreso) cool comes around the corner very soon. I realize that it is sometimes hard to keep reinventing the wheel or should I say the thicker LTE plastic 'Black Slab'.
The 3D phone looks pretty cool though. I wonder if VzW will or would pick up on that technology.
IMO, there are two phones others have that I want Verizon to have:
HTC Sensation (Tmobile)
Samsung Galaxy S 2 (Tmobile)
If they did put LTE in the X2, what would make it any different from the Thunderbolt and the Charge? Then you would just be in here complaining about how "all the high end phones are exactly the same..."
Verizon isn't catering to a single demographic. They're not Apple.
Options are a good thing.
They seem to be doing pretty good $$$$$$$$ these days.
And yes, maybe they SHOULD also listen to the 'simple small man's voice' for once? Instead of what they 'think' we might like.
Granted, as the smartphone airways become more crowded with 4G customers it will be necessary as a convenience, but that is really a couple of years away- for now it shouldn't be a negative if a phone is 3G or 4G. By the time we really "need" it, we will all be eligible for an upgrade anyway. Just my 2 cents worth.

NEWSFLASH back to you, maybe they SHOULD learn LESSONS from Apple, huh?

Phone lesson from Apple: Make only one product so that no one has a choice. If you want an Apple product, go buy one.
Verizon has no desire to be a one trick pony, regardless of how good the tricks are.
So, Verizon clearly is not catering to your every whim.
Feel free to get an account with some other phone company. The variety and power of available devices on the Verizon network is not a shortfall. The only thing they l...

It is NOT good business sense for Verizon (or any company) to spend a lot of money making sure these extreme minorities are happy. Law of diminishing returns comes into play.
You want them to "Listen to apple"
Fine. Then you have ONE phone choice, period. You don't like it, tough because that's all you get.
You STILL want them to listen to apple?
Or, better yet, get prepaid. You know nothing about lame smartphones unless you get one of the prepaid carriers.
I hope vzw customers aren't really like this. Saying that Verizon has nothing but lame smartphones is like saying McDonalds only has stale fries...
