I am now on Gingerbread 2.33 for my Droid X. If you get the chance I highly recommend it.

Did you take the jump to rooting or did you install a non-rooted leak?

I have to ask you though...What would happen if/when Verizon tries to push the official update to my phone?

It depends on how Motorola/Verizon run it. If it's an official test build, it should get overwritten, but if whoever leaked it messed with it too much (like rooted it) the update most likely won't push through.

Now,in either case, it's a good idea for you to look up (and find files for) how to manually restore your phone via sbf. It's really not that complicated (once you have the files). You just have to plug your phone into your computer and run an application. it does the rest for you.

Sorry it took so long to respond. Apparently the Rom I'm running right now messes with having secondary gmail accounts push notifications to the device.

I found a great run thru of how to downgrade my phone back to 2.2....As I stated before I wanted to check it out and hope that when/if Verizon ever decides to make it official it would run a little better than this leaked version. Thanks for the response Menno

Wouldn't you have to factory reset your phone?

I'm interested to know what features in 2.33 made it worth the effort to update with a leaked build?

To be honest it was the thought having the latest/greatest OS is what was enticing to me. I tried it out and then went back to 2.2 I am hoping that if/when my Droid X gets it, I'll have the option to take it or not...seeing as though I didnt like what it had to offer..IMO
