Manual Install Of Gingerbread

As I stated before I did a manual install of Gingerbread however battery life is now worse since doing the upgrade. I am not sure if it's because Gingerbread runs more stuff in the background than 2.2 but I finding my batter is now being charged during the day to get it back to 100% as well as finding the battery running hotter than normal. Is there a way to get back to 2.2 in hopes that the Verizon upgrade may be better?

Thanks

We are going to need a lot more information in order to help you here. What phone do you have? What do you mean by "manual install?" If you rooted your phone then what ROM are you using? What else changed on your phone, because in my experience Gingerbread gets better battery life than Froyo (although I know that other's experiences could differ?) Are you using any apps that you weren't using on Froyo, or any new widgets? What are all of your settings? Are they the same as what they were on Froyo?

I would like to help but can't do much with the information provided.

I am using the Droid X. I found a leaked version of what was supposed to be Gingerbread 2.33 for Verizon Wireless. (I downloaded the file to my desktop. Unzipped it into a folder onto my desktop, booted the phone into recovery mode and installed the file from the SD card, and then rebooted. Low and behold the file was installed.

Make Sense?

Yeah makes perfect sense. Assuming that you didn't change the apps that you are using then it sounds like the leaked version has some type of a bug that is draining your battery. I am not quite sure of the process (if there is one) for the Droid X. Have you taken a look on XDA Developers Forum yet? If there is an answer out there it is most likely found on XDA. I would look for you, but here at work PhoneScoop is about the only web site I have access to.

One thing I do know is that with the Eris, there were leaks similar to the one that you installed. With those leaks there was no way to reverse the upgrade until full root was found for the leaked version. This may not be the same with all phones though. The good news here is that I belie...

You might try doing a wipe on your phone under settings and then privacy. A lot of times this can fix these issues, especially with an upgrade from an older version if you didn't ever do a wipe. I'm also using the Gingerbread and haven't had any issues, and my battery is great.

There is no way to get back to 2.2 without wiping your phone anyway so I'd start with just doing the wipe on Gingerbread and see what happens. If you still want to go back to 2.2 you'll have to search for the SBF instructions. You'll have to download the RSD Lite program as well as the SBF file and then basically flash your phone with that program and file and you'll be back to stock. You'll also have to install the phone USB drivers for your version of Window...
